Job #24277 · Bathroom+
Project Goals
-
Create a functional ensuite bathroom where one did not previously exist
-
Relocate laundry to the second floor for easier everyday access
-
Design a clean, comfortable space that feels relaxing and purposeful
-
Incorporate practical, budget-conscious features without sacrificing style
The Challenge
The home did not have a primary bathroom, and the laundry was located on the first floor, making the layout less convenient for long-term living. Since the homeowners planned to move back into the home in a few years, they wanted to take advantage of the house being unoccupied to make thoughtful updates now. The challenge was to create a functional second-floor bathroom and laundry area while staying within budget and maintaining a clean, comfortable design.
The Solution
By reworking the second-floor layout, the unused closet space was transformed into a bright, functional ensuite bathroom, while laundry was added nearby for everyday convenience. The bathroom was designed with a calm, clean aesthetic, featuring a double vanity, matte black accents, and a solid-surface shower surround chosen for both affordability and easy maintenance. A towel warmer—an important feature for the homeowners based on their experience living overseas—adds comfort and a personal touch. The result is a purposeful second-floor remodel that prepares the home for their next chapter.
